Description: The Oktiabrskaya Hotel is one of the oldest in St. Petersburg. It is located in the central part of the City, where two main avenues Nevsky & Ligovsky meet just in front of Moskovsky Railway station. In December 2001 eh hotel celebrated its 150th anniversary.

The site that the Oktiabrskaya Hotel currently occupies went down into St. Petersburg history as early as the middle of the 18th century. The czar’s menagerie was located at the Elephant’s Yard to be found there. The constriction of the railway between Moscow and St. Petersburg led to the development of a big square in front of the future building of the Nikolaevsky Railway Station. The design of the complex was approved in February 1845, by Czar Nicholas I.

In the second half of the 19th Century the hotel was reconstructed and renovated several times. It changed its owners and its name as well. After Znamenskaya it became Severnaya, then it was renamed Big Severnaya and finally in 1918 it got its current name - the Oktiabrskaya Hotel.

Restaurant and Bar are open in the main lobby. The Restaurant has three rooms and seats 200 guests. The Oktiabrskaya Hotel Restaurant offers ”open buffet” for breakfast and “a la carte” for other meals.
